Thirdway Interiors proudly welcomed a group of 30 students aged 17–18 from Westminster Academy and King Solomon Academy to one of our key projects at 3 Sheldon Square, in partnership with Career Ready and our client British Land.

Career Ready is a UK social mobility charity that delivers mentoring and internship programmes for young people from underrepresented backgrounds. The visit aimed to introduce the students to the world of construction and fit-out, showcasing our business and the work happening on site, whilst also providing an insight into careers and opportunities within our industry - cementing Thirdway’s commitment to supporting career development across the built environment.

The visit featured an introduction to the scheme at 3 Sheldon Square, a guided tour of the live construction site and interactive discussions with the site team. Students had a unique opportunity to ask questions, learn about real projects in action, and broaden their understanding of potential career options. Our volunteers also delivered a presentation on building a personal brand, alongside practical activities to help the students think about how they could promote themselves within the job market.

For many of the students, this was their first exposure to the breadth of opportunities available within construction. Thirdway’s diverse workforce enabled students to see relatable role models and envision themselves within the industry, helping to inspire confidence and interest in pursuing a future career in construction.

This event presented a great opportunity for Thirdway Interiors to demonstrate our commitment to community engagement and social value, particularly for one of our key clients, British Land, who partner with Career Ready. While this initiative was made possible through British Land’s involvement with the charity, the overwhelmingly positive experience has encouraged Thirdway to explore a more direct partnership with Career Ready in the future. This includes delivering a ‘Communication & Networking Masterclass’ to the latest cohort of King Solomon Academy and Westminster Academy students on Thursday, 29 January.

In addition to this, as part of our ongoing engagement with young people and our continued support of King Solomon Academy and local schools, Thirdway is exploring supporting ‘King Solomon Academy Careers Week’ (Monday, 26 January – Friday, 6 February). These sessions are aimed at students in Years 9 to 11 (ages 13–16) and will focus on career planning, workplace skills, and employer engagement.

Thirdway Interiors remains committed to inspiring the next generation, creating pathways into the industry, and collaborating with partners to provide meaningful experiences for young people across the community.

Office’s should be more than just four walls, a ceiling, and some desk space.
With each and every project we redefine what make’s the workplace experience.
